Hi all I'm in the tricky situation of telling someone I had booked them a ferry and not actually doing it(I got sidetracked and then the volcano thing happened). I haven't been able to get on the Irish Ferries website or reach them on the phone, I'm ringing 0818300400 but I can book through a third party website for a little extra. My question is does Irish Ferries charge a CC Surcharge? The other website does, its 2.5%
    Thanks.

I was emailing Irish Ferries last week about Sail & Rail tickets and they told me that a €6 handling fee is charged if you pay by Mastercard, Visa or Laser. They didn't mention if this was per ticket or per transaction though.

Can you let me know what third party website you are booking your tickets through? I am going on honeymoon in 2 and a half weeks and the intention was always to go by ferry and rail cause I hate flying. But we didn't book the tickets earlier because of how loose the arrangements are for Sail & Rail, but now that the whole volcano thing has happened I'm really worrying about getting on a ferry to the UK, I can't get through to them at all and I've been calling since 9am :( My own fault for being too slow to book them!

At least we have our Eurostar tickets booked anyway!

Thanks for that. I was looking at www.aferry.ie or www.dierctferries.com. Both are the same price and both use the 2.5% Surcharge.
