Limerick Hurling ?

I think Limerick should withdraw from the hurling championship this year to give themselves a chance to sort out this problem and get a team together . Nothing can be gained by seeing a team destroyed as we did time and time again in the league this year . It is heartbreaking to see a once proud hurling county reduced to this . I think the GAA have decided to make a stand against player power in Limerick and are willing to scarifice hurling in Limerick to this end . Hurling cannot afford to loose Limerick there are too few premier counties as it is .

They should still play in the Championship, sure they will get beaten
but it's better than admitting that they're not good enough and just pulling out of the competition all together!

Withdrawing from the Championship isn't going to do Limerick hurling any favours, IMO

Can anybody confirm that an emergency meeting has been called for tonight?

They might as well stay there. It would be crazy to withdraw. There is no relegation this year anyway after the ruling at the weekends congress, so they are safe enough and don't have to worry about going to Christy Ring Cup.

They will be at nothing in Munster, but in the qualifiers i'd reckon there wouldn't be much between this Limerick side and Laois, Antrim & Carlow...possibly even Wexford too.

it just shows what an utter joke the national leagues are, this year Limerick, last year Cork. When Wolves brought out a seriously understrength team in the Premier League they were fined by the authorities for disrespecting the competition. Why has the County boards of these counties been allowed get away with this?

you would think that anyone who paid in to see that yesterday should be offered a refund.

I think we already know their not good enough . Just look at yesterday's scoreline . They will be humiliated again by either Cork or Tipp . What good will that do Limerick hurling .

Suppose they do come out of the qualifiers what then ? Do we want a repeat of what happened against Tipp last august . Only this time it will be much worse . Lost by 31 points to Dublin in the league can you imagine what the scoreline would be against Kilkenny in the championship .

I dont think you will see any Limerick supporters at their next outing . The mood in Parnell Park yesterday was one of disgust and betrayal . Who would pay €40 to see their team humiliated .

    True,
That won't do Limerick hurling any good either,
Can't see anything being resolved before the Championship!:(
