3M Respirator Filter Lifetime

Anybody know how long the organic vapour filters on the 3M respirators last?

I'm using it for fiberglassing and have been storing it beside the chemicals for the past few years and although it seem to still block the solvents I'm wondering if this has caused the chemical or whatever is used to filter the vapour to be used up.

The one I have is part of the 6000 range. Here's what it looks like:

    Thanks

There should be an expiry date on the filter itself, they don't last that long 3-4 yrs.
It is a simple thing to change though.

If your working with vapours, voc's or airborn chemicals, your supposed to change them every 8 hours!

Sound, thanks for that. I wasn't sure if that was a best before date because it was so long ago!!
