I've often heard this phrase uttered- do you think it is true?
    What are your experiences?

I know there are diddly squat jobs out there at the moment (I am very grateful that I have one).

Not now I wouldn't think (says himself on the scratch) for the reason that there are so many good people out of work. Whereas before you would want a pretty good excuse to be out of work

Maybe it just looks like you are going for the position because you want to, rather than just for settling for whatever you can get.

Same applies for blow jobs. When I don't have a girl friend I don't get a blow job. When I do have a girlfriend the amount of girls interested in blowing me increase tenfold.

Yeah I know. A number of people that I know are unemployed- and it's not for the lack of them applying for jobs.

In my own experience, when I finished college a few years back I quit my ****ty job and lived off my savings for a few months. It was the usual ****e of applying and hearing nothing back- as soon as I got a job, that week I was offered interviews with 2 other companies.

That's because girls talk. She tells all her friends about that freaky third testicle you have.

Funny, when I have a boyfriend, I always get more attention from random men on a night out than I would if I was single.

Well congrats on your job and interviews. Have to ask you, were the interviews for places that you would prefer to work in compared to where you are now??

The reason I ask is that I have a couple of interviews in the Autumn for good companies, but still a long shot of getting into. I'm pretty sure I could find something else in the meantime but that it would require a committment and may not be in the best location and might lack a lot of perks. So dunno whether I should hold out till the autumn or take what i can get

I recently did the unthinkable, and landed a job, which I hope to use as a stepping stone. Ok, thats what I think right now, but ya know yourself, it changes when ya start.

This is going back a few years now, but yeah the interviews were for big companies with good reputations. I would have taken a job with either if I had been offered them, but I told them I was no longer seeking work as I had just started my new job that week and was happy there, and the money, job duties etc were around the same.

Compared to the job I am in now? I am happy where I am now, the other companies had slightly better pay but were in more expensive areas rent-wise so much of a muchness really.
If you are unemployed now- take whatever you can get. It looks better than a gap on your CV. Plus, you might find you don't mind the work too much, and the companies you are interviewing with in the Autumn might have a change of circumstances before then.

You must give off a vibe of desperation when you're single.

I think it has more to do with the confidence factor i.e you are not 100% reliant on getting the job, hence you are more relaxed and less tense for the interview.

It depends on the job i guess. I'm starting in a new job next week, after deciding that i'd had enough of shift work. I know a few people who have been looking for jobs for ages, and havent found anything. And they would be looking for similar positions to me.
