    Hi everyone,
this isnt a "me looking for some poker dealer work" type of thread :P Not "advertising" :P lol.
Basically I been dealing in self-dealt games for months and recently did a course on poker dealing. To hone skills. Learn the right way etc. So I am up to a certain level. Not just doing it a wet day. But of course not massively experience.

Basically I am looking for advice on step 2 - Getting experience. Dealing in tournaments, etc. Does anyone know the best road to do so?

Alot of places look for seasoned experienced poker dealers. Whats the best way to go forward? ... I'd guess i'd even be willing to work for free a few times. get experience, add more merits to a poker dealing cv of sorts. would this be a bad idea?

Any advice would be appreciated :D

Alot of card clubs have tournaments where a player is nominated to deal in exchange for x amount of tounament chips on the night, its how I and alot of other dealers I know got into dealing as a profession. The Poker Room in Celbridge (where Im based) holds such tournaments every tuesday, saturday & sunday. Pm me if your interested.

No, they're rebuy tournaments whereby players can Re-Buy/Top-up at any time for as much as they like €3 gets you 1,000 €10 gets you 4,000 €20 gets you 10,000. Anyone who deals for the table will recieve 10,000 in tournament chips for free. We provide them with basic training and have regulars who deal most weeks :)

    Thanks guys :)

Would it be totally weird to hand out a cv to casinos or cardrooms?

Your best bet is to go into a few of them and speak to the manager/ Tournament director. They'll probably try you out on a quiet evening or run a few hands on a spare table to see if you can do it. Worst they can say is no, so go and give it a try.
