Planning on going away for a week with my girlfriend in July some stage for somewhere fairly cheap, with decent nightlife but nothing too mental.

We've narrowed it down to Kusadasi in Turkey or 'Sunny Beach' in Bulgaria.

Has anyone ever been to either of these resorts? And what did you think of them?

have been to both -> rubbish and low rent tbh. food is particularly poor in Bulgaria - a bit better in Turkey. Sunny beach is like Bray in the sun.
I would recommend Fuerteventura (Corralejo specifically) instead. Fantastic place and cheap too - maybe not as cheap as the 2 places that you've mentioned but you get what you pay for...

Turkey BIG time. Been to both recently.
Bulgaria - cheap but nothing to do or see during the day, food awful, people rude
Turkey - as mentioned, low rent, but lots of things to see and do (if you're into that) Night life good and markets are an experience.

I have been to Sunny Beach. I would not send my worse enemy there, I thought it was that bad.

Been to Kusadasi three times in past three years and it wins out big time over Sunny Beach! Food is decent, people are nice and everything is reasonable.

Only downside for me is the 2.5 hr transfer from the airport!

Don't forget you need to but a visa on entry to the country - there is a booth just before passport control and you must have notes! It is €15 for 2010.

Kusadasi is only an hour from the airport if you fly to Izmir. I loved Kusdasi and your gf will like all the handbags in the shops!

I've been to Sunny Beach. Seeing as it was my first and only holiday, I thought it was alright. It was cheap at the time (2006) and the food was good, especially steaks. :D

I don't know about the nightlife, but it would seem to be a destination for someone with children. It was mostly kids stuff over there like Crazy Golf.

Definitely Turkey would not send my worst enemy to bulgaria.
I have been to both but would not go back to bulgaria.
Loved Kusadasi so much went back three times.
Plenty to do there and the food is great and very reasonable.

    Bulgaria

I wouldnt go ever again, food is rubbish, local beer was nice, people are cranky and rude, if someone says that people are nice they obviously never went down the strip.

    Turkey

Been to gumbet and liked it its not as big as Sunny beach in Bulgaria but is a bit more friendly. The turks cant be seen out in the street hassling people anymore ,laws are after being passed. They ll call ya from the stall or shop but cant really chase ya anymore. They might be annoying but are more friendly than greece of bulgaria.I know plenty of people been to Kusadasi and it seems decent. You just need to be able to laugh at the turks and ignore them if they keep it up.Food is nice, Mediterranean style, sunny beach was microwave style

    Turkey wins
