It must be that time of year that has created the urge!!

I'm looking to buy a GAA magazine. I don't see any in the shops. I think Hoganstand still exists though maybe just be subscription, its 50e including P&P which is a little over 4e per mag. Is it in the shops, what price is it, is it still any good?

I used to get it and another thicker mag that I can't remember the name of.

Has anyone any recommendation on a good gaelic magazine?

Found GaelicStar on the web. Its £67.32 (£35.40 + £31.92pp). Thats very expensive.

I'm suprised that theres not an opening for a good gaelic magazine but maybe the internet has killed that.

There also used to be a Gaelic players mag that was quite good but I suppose the free suppleement from the GPA in the Independent has probably replaced that, thats if it was from the GPA.

Its an online hurling magazine emailed to you once a month. I have been quite impressed by its content given its a small free publication. Don't know if there is any similar gaelic football magazine though

Its a very good read. I was sent a link to this before the 1st mag. Its very impressive for a free mag.

Love the way they focus in on a weak county each time too. Last month they gave 7 or 8 pages to Kildare hurling. This month did the same for Kerry. Makes interesting reading finding out about what is going on in these counties as they try to progress.

Well worth signing up for it.

I agree with you about the small counties, the Paul Galvin interview was very interesting in the most recent issue

So the general concenus seems to be that there is only the two magazines I mentoned available in Hardcopy. The northern magazine seems to be quite good but overpriced.

I guess its a sign of the times people use the internet for things like that anymore.
