I'll be charging €1.80 per bale without the wrap - the same as I did for the last 2 years. I don't supply wrap at all (in order to keep the cost base low) so I can't give you a price on that.

I'm in leitrim. I only wrap about 2000 bales per year for a few neighbours who have balers but no wrapper. There was a page on the Farmers Journal a couple of weeks ago and they had the Contractor guidelines for wrapping at €1.50 to €2.00 per bale inc vat for 2010.

According to your previous posts you've only recently bought your baler and wrapper, both of which are getting a bit long in the tooth at this stage. Therefore your machinery costs will be pretty small, and charging €2/bale plus VAT to wrap is at the very top end of the scale. Looks good on paper, but unfortunaltely things don't work like that. If you're going to charge a premium for work you'll have to offer a significant advantage over your competition, i.e. modern reliable machinery that will get the work done better or faster. €2/bale inc VAT is a fairly standard rate for contractors all over the country for wrapping, I wouldn't be inclined to stray too far from that.

i would be happy with 1.80 plus the dreaded vat to be honest and old machinery aint cheap as you have to put in the hours maintaining it but better that than adding to the pension of some fat arsed banker who lost all our money trying to be a developer:)
