    Planning on heading to that part of the world for the last 2 weeks in May.14th to 29th.

    Hoping to go along the lines of

    Fly into Treviso. Will get the train to Bled so will be there for mid afternoon on the first day

    Lake Bled -> Ljubljana -> Zagreb -> Sarajevo -> Dubrovnik -> Hvar -> Split

    Fly home from Zadar at 9pm so pretty much a full day again.

    Has anyone any experience of this?

    Thinking of using public transport for the first week and hire a car in Dubrovnik for the second week and drop it back in Zadar airport. With the hire car I would hope to do a trip around the bay of Kotor in Montenegro and also to the waterfalls in Bosnia. Has anyone had any hassle taking a hire car into these countries

    Any recommendations would be great? Is there anything worth seeing further up north around Zadar?

    Also would it be better to take the car ferrys to the islands from Dubrovnik and get the ferry from Hvar to Split or would I be missing something spectacular on the coastal drive from Dubrovnik to Split?

    Wow, I was just about to start a thread on something similar. Flying into Milan but going to ferry it accross to Split.
