Ok so we are students renting a house and can't afford the rest of the payments so we want out.
We sent a letter to our letting agency man, he replied saying we cannot leave, if we do he can pursue one of the girls dad who signed an agreement with him. ( don't know the exact details of this agreement -trying to locate it)

What can we do are we screwed?
Pay next months rent - then lose deposit
Likelihood of them going after him for the money?
    No money at all eeeeee

They said we could try and find someone to fill the house

Surely you would have worked out what you could afford before renting a place?

Yes, they can come after you for the rent for the rest of the lease. That's why you sign a contract. It locks both sides in (unless there are out clauses).

It may be an expensive lesson for you.
