I am going on a J1 this summer and have a question about the ds-160 form. I made a mistake when filling it out and was just wondering if it's OK to fill out and submit a new ds-160 and bring the confirmation page from that application to the interview?

I don't think they will accept a second one, what kind of mistake was it? A numerical or spelling mistake?

No that shouldn't be a big deal, I would maybe contact your travel company and tell them, also mention it at your interview!

Mine was alright straight away. I got it from the Pharmacy beside the embassy.

The DS160 asked so many questions which were basically the same; "are you involved in terrorist activities?" Then it went on to basically ask a question for each possible terrorist activity one could be involved in!
"Are you heading to the US in an attempt to smuggle in weapons grade plutonium?"
"Are you heading to the US to gather intelligence on the US security forces?"

Do you need to bring the whole DS-160 or just the confirmation sheet. I never bothered printing out the whole application.

Just the confirmation sheet, it should have a copy of your picture on it!

I left out a country in the travelling section I visited in 05 it was france will this make much of difference? Im not going to change unless it means I'll get screwed over by immigration which I cant really see happening.:o Would it be safe just leaving it?

I doubt its going to be a problem, I left out a trip to the US the first time I was doing it, the next year I wrote the wrong dates in because I couldn't remember so I guessed.

And even then, France is in the EU so you wouldn't have required a visa or anything, that shouldn't be an issue in any way!
