    I just read the following

Consumer Association of Ireland Chief Executive Dermott Jewell has said that as flights are being cancelled due to an 'Act of God' there is no protection for consumers.

Mr Jewell said consumers will have paid travel fees, airport charges and insurance, but will not get any comfort whatsoever. He said goodwill being shown by some airlines is exceptional and they do not have to do this.

That is ridiculous!! It makes me so angry!

I can't believe that he'd say something as stupid as that. RTE must've misquoted him. The airlines must transport you to your destination or refund your money, but they are under no obligation to pay out additional compensation to passengers.

I really hope it is a misquote!

If people can't travel the days they booked and paid for they will have to refund us. People take specific days off work, we have limited amount of holidays. Not everyone can reschedule, some will have to cancel and get refunded...

Airlines have to refund you but after that items like hotels and car rental dont have to be refunded
