    Hi,

Group of us planning to go to London for a week in September. Hoping to catch a few shows, see the sights etc. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is central and not too expensive,

    Thanks

Holiday Inn Bloomsbury is really nice, just round the corner from Russell Square tube which gets you to covent garden in about 6 minutes! I paid with Airmiles but I think you can get rooms for £100 or so a night if you book in advance.

I would also recommend the EasyHotel in Paddington. I got a room there for £35 and honestly it was fine. Really clean and quiet, and if you stay mid-week when it's quiet they'll bump you up to a bigger room. Probably not the best for a romantic break as it's a bit utilitarian but then again it leaves you with lots more cash to spend on shopping/shows/dinner. Just round the corner from the tube, ten mins into the West End.
