Just wondering if anyone knows what kind of mount this is and if it's easy enough to find a scope to fit it. Or, is there an adapter to fit a scope to this available anywhere?

    Hi Demon,

What you have there is the reloading guide for the old 5 round stripper clip ammo for the real steal version. Somehow its been turned 90 degrees.

Just loosen the grub screw and slide out.

Have a look at the links below to see what i mean. (A picture being a 1000 words and all that.)

The Army M14 comes with scope mount that fits from the left hand side of the gun over the ejection port area of the gun. The rear of this mount/rail fits into the wedge where you have
the stipper clip guide.(which will need to be removed if you had a mounting rail)
you can buy one of these separately it should fit
on the M14 Socom. But there should be no need for it as the Socom comes
with a rail further to the front.

I have pics below highlighting the difference.

hobbyairsoft.ie also sell an M14 mount for a scope for 20 bucks

Ah, thanks very much for the info! I turned the guide around because I just thought it was for a scope mount, never realized it was for a 5 round clip. These things really are proper replicas! I didin't really want to use to front-end rail as it would make the gun look and probably feel front heavy. Definately gonna pick up that mount from Hobby Airsoft. Thanks again lads!
