You need to give a lot more information.

What is the modem? Is it supported by Windows 7? Is that 32 or 64-bit Windows? Has the modem even installed, and did the software run?

People who work in mobile phone shops are not technical support, and generally won't have a clue about computers, other than where the on/off switch is.

If the problem is not with the modem or 3G connection, you have no grounds to cancel the contract.

The modem is the Huawei E122 USB mobile broadband.

I have been told the modem has worked on other windows 7 computers

Says my system is 64 bit operating system.

The modem and all the drivers have installed correctly.

It is when I go to connect message comes up saying connecting,However, I then get a message coming up saying connection failed please check your settings are correct.

    PLEASE HELP TRIED EVERYTHING,LOL

Going back to the shop tomorrow going to take the laptop into the shop and if guy cant sort it will cancel the contract as only have the modem 7 days.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall the software and then reinstall it, this is all I can suggest
+1 on the sales staff knowing nothing, their job is to sell

I tried that, just rung Toshiba they said they can do nothing, thier only advice was to do a recovery, which would mean me losing all my data.

Well I went into the shop today, and guy could not get the USB modem to work. He was trying for over an hour...So then he tried the Wireless E5830. It worked no bother.Only thing was had to pay 79.99 on a 12 month contract.

But really pleased sorted, I am a bit surprised how fast my connection is.YouTube videos seem to be really fast and page downloads.

Quick question, does anyone know how I check how much Gb in data i have downloaded.

Guy in shop told me 15gb limit is this much?

I be on net for couple of hours a day play quite a bit of Youtube videos.

15 gbyte is less than a week of youtube. It's hardly any much. 30GByte is a moderate cap and 120 Gbyte is a good cap.

You need 200G+ to replace TV aerial with Internet
