    Hi lads
I’m checking info about japcars dublin
I went there this morning to have a look at 1.8 GSR lancer 2000 with 82k kilometres on the clock. Don’t really know what to think about it. Car looks ok outside but some bits are missing like radiator cup, panel around aircon.
Your man told me that everything will be fixed, timing belt and full service done before sell.
I asked him to start it up but the battery was flat.
Price is 5k for it with PX for my lancer mivec
Does anyone have seen that car before? I know it’s there for a long time, and after what I have read about them I got doubts and a bit afraid to deal with them.

If you have that many doubts I'd walk away. Plenty of Lancers around.

No GSR is worth that much money either... 5k with your car? thats crazy..

You get an Evo 4/5 for that!

Also what was stopping him fulling a battery out of another car? Id be fair dodgey about that!!

Thats a stupid deal imo, GSRs dont seem to hold their value as well as the mivecs, is your mivec in good condition, better off selling it anf buying a GSR privately, i know there are some horror stories about japcars but there is the odd good car to be found up there ;)

Yeah he offered me 5700 hundred cash deal as well, I’m not going to give them my mivec

5700 for a 1.8 gsr is madness too. Shop around you'll find one cheaper than that

Their cars are always overpriced and cars are not in the best nick, even if they say they`re going to "do" everything before purchase.

He was chancing he's arm making that "deal", shop around
now's a great time to get a tidy one for a lot less, plus bring
someone mechanically minded next time too, so they won't
try and pull the wool over you.

If a car is not presented well pre sale it's never worth buying.

I wouldn't buy it from that place either, a friend of mine bought there once. after putting down his deposit, later coming to collect the car he found they had taken a lot of the stuff out that was in when the deposit was paid.

I would seriously not advise you to buy from japcars. my brother bought a nissan sylvia from them about 5 months ago and has had nothing but problems.

The dealers are absolute scum and try to intimidate you. 1 month after my brother bought his car the clutch went completely. he had to wait for 5 weeks to get the right parts so his car was sitting in a garage all that time.

You will regret it if you buy anything from japcars.
