Recording My Gameplay

Hey, I have been looking into recording my gameplay recently but I have always hit 1 stumbling block, my TV has no AV out.
Then I had an idea. Would it work if I had my regular AV cable going to a splitter of some sort and then 1 cable to my tv and another to a Dazzle Capture Card, and from the Dazzle to my laptop?
Really what Im asking is... can I do this with a dazzle instead of a camera.

    Thanks in advance.

Ye, they look good, and they're cheap which is what im looking for.

In the video - the AV out is from the PS3.
You need to the split the AV signal to the TV and then to the dazzle or easycap.

the video only show using the red audio channel, but you probably need both that and the white.

If you have a dazzle there is no need to get easycap as it's the same thing (more or less). The key for you is the splitting of the AV signal.

With the dazzle your inputs are limited to composite or S-video (well some dazzles have this). So you will need the appropriate AV cable for the back of the PS3, and then split the signal as you see in the youtube vid you linked. One side of the split goes to the TV, the other to the laptop/desktop.

Or you can just input everything to the dazzle and play while watching on the PC screen.

Thanks for that, it never crossed my mind that I could play on me Laptop.
Ill go for the easycap, Im not too fussy about the quality.

Will this work with the PS3 AV in one end and the splitters on the other?

That thread was on different equipment - and Tallon was spot on..
This thread I believe from the OP is on how to connect it all up (already selecting a dazzle then)- slightly different I think.

That's what the guy is using in your original youtube to facilitate marrying 2 plugs together. And yes you plug one end into the AV cable, and then the splitters into the other side.
The splitters are something like these
