"Transport Minister Noel Dempsey today predicted volcanic ash would not be dumped on the country despite forecasts for an unsettled northerly airflow over Ireland early next week."

Dempsey disappeared during the worst of the winter weather when the country ground to a halt, I think he is trying to overcompensate now, but I feel commanding volcanos to cease erupting is a bit beyond his brief.

Yes, I know. I certainly wouldn't got daughters wedding if there was adverse weather conditions beyond my control, even if there is an entire depatment and all other goverment minister left in the country.

My daughter would have to get someone else to give her away. I'd be there spreading salt.
