I need something for glassing the field.

I do not like binoculars, but prefer a monocular. The eyes just don't like the binos' set up.

Anyhow, if I go with a monocular I might as well get a rangefinder.

Please advise what you are using the glass the field. Going after deer mainly and the fox by night.

I use a Bushnell Elite 1500 laser rangefinder.
It has 7X magnification and will effectively range a target upto 1500 yrds dont know if thats as much mag as you need but as rangefinders go, I wouldnt go past it.
It has an illuminated reticle, has various modes of use and does what it says on the tin as they say!!!

    Thanks for the ideas.

Right now I am using a pair of Celestron bino's.

I will check out the Bushnell's. Is there any problem ranging anything under 600yards?

Any issues with ranging bushes, rocks, or shiny objects? My research has shown a lot of problems with various things of this sort.

    Thanks again.

The reticle illuminates green and does defo help in lowlight conditions, ive used it when out lamping and it works just as well at night as in broad daylight
hope that answers your question !!!

the bushnell will range from 5yrds to 1500 yrds and it had a function that enables it to differentiate between bushes\rocks and your intended target, never had any problems with it
