Do any bookies allow "place" betting?

I know on Betfair you can back a horse to be placed (ie 1st, 2nd or 3rd for a fraction of the win odds) but do any bookies allow this kind of bet?

They have place betting as part of an each way bet but do any of them allow you to just put on a place bet by itself?

Nearly sure it's not as they wouldn't have the win part of an e/w bet for place only bet.
