Help Honda Civic Coupe NOISE

    Hi,

    I have a 1997 Honda Civic Coupe 1.6 and there was strange noises coming from the passenger side under bonnet like rattling and grinding metal.
    Today it just got so much worse, it now sounds like a lawnmower..its not overheating or anything and I have checked oil, coolent etc and all seems fine.
    Its only there when I rev the engine and seems to be coming from the resonator, it only just had a full service 3 months ago and I just can't afford to bring to a mechanic again.
    I am so embarrassed driving around and am afraid that I will do serious damage.
    Please can anyone help, I love my car!!

    My old CRX used ot make a noise from the passenger side. Was the ABS pump. Is your ABS working? Check your brake fluid level.

    Yeah brake fluid is fine, thanks. I think I have found the problem, the top part of the exhaust going into the engine seems to have come free. I will have to drop into a garage and maybe try to buy one from a scrap yard!!
