What is eating my cabbage?

I have a few cabbages planted in a covered 4x2 garden.

The leaves on some of the cabbages looks like they are being eaten. I cant see any way slugs could get in to it, as its covered every night.

Does anyone have any idea what is attacking the plants? And how to stop them?

    Thanks

Caterpillars? Have a look at night with a torch and see if you can spot them, they can be well camouflaged so you may need to pay close attention.

Hand pick and drop them into a jar with a good shot of salt in the bottom.
Out of interest why did you think a covered garden would be slugproof?

I was wondering that too ;)

About to put our traps for the little munchkins here; a jar of jam fermented and they will love it in the bottom of empty tins with water added..... Amazing how many will drown therein. Also am putting plastic "collars" round the seedlings; half milk cartons.

Lived once on an offshore island where they were worse than in Ireland.
