Where is my cabin filter?

I bought a cabin/pollen filter for a 1996 BMW E36 Saloon. I cannot for the life of me find the place to put it. All internet searches point to behind the glove compartment. I take that out and removed the wiring house, followed all the instructions etc and still cannot find it. I am beginning to think I dont have one!!…

Sweet. Thanks a million. Surprised I didnt come across that with all my searching. Even the leaflet in the box was sending me behind the glove compartment. Admittedly it was for a left hand drive.
