Transfer my iphone to wife - how to?

I have an 16gb iphone Vodaphone, and I just got a new 32gb one from Vodafone.(I got one with my personal number a few weeks back, and now work have upgraded my phone to an iphone too)

I want to transfer all my data(contacts, emails, apps, etc) from my old iphone to my new one.
I’m going to give my old phone to my wife, who is also on Vodafone – will her SIM card work in my old phone, or is there a way to clear all the memory from it and link it with her SIM ?
I’d really appreciate any advice about the best way to go about swapping the phones over.

Sync ur first one with iTunes. Click on the iPhone in iTunes and go through all the tabs accross the top. Make sure sync is ticked in all of them

to wipe everythin then ya can sync it again but untick all the options or else go to settings then general then reset. Select erase all content and settings

First sync the old phone ( give it any name) that should backup all your data, then connect new phone to Itunes and choose restore from old phone, you should have everything from old phone, then restore old phone as a new phone and that will wipe everything.
you could restore the old phone as a new phone first but just restore your new phone first to make sure you have everything.

Thats great thanks. I have a fair idea how to sync old phone and then do the restore back up to my new phone.

How do I 'restore the old phone as a new phone' ? Will this option be on itunes, or is it somewhere on the phone? Bear in mind my wife has a seperate itunes a/c and the phone will be syncd to her laptop.

yeah the option will be in Itunes instead of restoring from backup, you select restore as a new phone.
or you could "Erase all content and setting" but that will take painfully long and since you are only giving ph to wife there is really no need for that.
