Nespresso machine alternatives ?

    Hi guys,

I know & respect that this is very much a forum for REAL coffee aficionados. I like my coffee, but to be honest, all the hassle in making it has me driven to the point that I haven't had one in a very long time.

I want to get a nespresso style machine so I can have my daily joe, but before I commit, can any of you recommend an alternative to the nespresso, there the pods might be more freely available ? or just a better machine ?

    Thanks

(I'll put my flame proof suit on now)

What type of coffee do you normally drink? If it's just black coffee that you enjoy go for a grinder and a french press. What set-up are you currently using? I'm afraid I know little about nespresso.

Black, espresso, occasional cappuchino, americano. Have a drip machine (which I love, but is a pain in the proverbials to set up & clean all the time for one cup (mug)

Hi OP, iv had the Philips senseo since Christmas and I find it great. Im not a huge coffee buff but at the same time I wouldn't drink any aul crap...

I buy the coffee pods in bulk from here but you can also get the Coffee Duck attachment that lets you use your own coffee grinds.

Anyway, check youtube for reviews, it's got a good reputation from users.

**btw you can get senseo pods in Tesco etc....

Thanks for that combat cow. Real price difference on it. (over €100).

Are they the only two contenders in the market ? I'm wondering would I regret buying the senseo in a couple of months having wanted the nespresso ??

I like the fact you can buy the senseo pods in tesco/dunnes & I just discovered they have a "latte" version...
