    Hello,

    I'm currently 15 and I'm looking to get a job in the summertime.

    What is the legal working age in Ireland, and it's limitations?

    The fact is OP that no one is going to employ you at 15 unless its a friend of the family or a relative. The Health and Safety hoops are too much of a pain to most employers and the lack of experience will do you no favours. You might be able to get some casual work but my advice would, if possible, do some volunteer work so you have something to put on your CV when you're looking for a job at 17/18.

    I would also advise against looking specifically for summer work in retail. It used to be that you might find a job just for the summer but that has dried up with the recession. Try and find something thats a few hours a week and that you can then work full time over the summer. 99% of student applications I got as a retail manager got neatly filed in the bin.
