Just want to grab some opinions before I make the jump! I was quoted €12,750 for a Ford Fiesta Style Metallic, 5 door, 1.25lt, 2010. This is with the scrappage deal. No other extras apart from the metallic paint. This is from a Dublin Ford Dealer. Does this seem a good offer as I think I will go for it?

Try 5 different dealers and compare, go in person as over the phone they won't give a proper quote. I'd imagine though with it being a popular car in short supply that they won't be discounting it too heavy.

I have gone to 2 Ford dealers so far and the other guy was quoting me €13,300 so it looks good when compared to this price.

I have looked at the Clio, Corsa and Polo as well and while the Clio was the best price at €12,000, friends say Renault are not the most reliable car unlike the Fiesta which has good reliability and resale price apparently.

The price sounds right on the ball. The current promotion is €11,700 + delivery and related charges.

Just make sure you get the upspecced model. Dealers are known for clearing older unspecced models to unsuspecting customers.

Sorry for sounding like an idiot but could you elaborate further on this?

Look at many fourcourts full to the brim with old stock pretending to be unregistered new models whereas they may be early 2009 cars that nobody ever bought.

Some vehicles, not necessarily Ford, may have facelifts and in 2009 and the dealers are selling pre facelift cars in 2010.

This new Fiesta Style has Alloys and front fogs. Older models may not have these extra's.

There are loads of dealers out there selling 2009 shape Nissan Qashqais for the same price as the new 2010 shape.

    Chancers

You should be able to knock another €300 - €400 on that. Ring round the garages and ask what their best price is for the colour & spec you want. Dont be afraid to tell them the best deal you have & which dealer its from

Did this earlier in the year & it worked. Picked up the same car you are looking at for €12,300

Friend of mine's missus recently purchased a 2010 Fiesta.

She paid about 13.5K for a relatively full spec model don't know exact one), alloys, air con, fogs, met paint etc. etc. with a trade in and scrappage on a 00 Punto.

She originally wanted it in the bright green colour, but as its so popular she would have had to wait until July to take delivery, so went for the light blue instead

Up the North the Qashqai is so popular you cannot get one until August!

6-8 weeks in the Republic.
