    Hi,

I sold an item for e500 on ebay. I'm about to send it off. I got the address and out of interest I google mapped it. It's a business premises. I suppose that's fair enough if someone wants to remain private. Just want to know am I fully protected by Paypal and ebay? There aren't any scams that I should know about are there? I emailed the buyer and asked him to confirm address so I have to show to Paypal incase...

    Thanks in advance...

I assume that you are sending it by registered post. I wouldn't be over worried. Lots of people get parcels delievered to their work place as there is no one to accept them at home.

Yeah, it'll be by registered post.

Is the address a Paypal confirmed address? Is the eBay user new, or has the account been inactive for a long time? Check out their detailed feedback, and see if it looks suspicious.

As a seller, you are given practically no protection by either Paypal or eBay, despite their claims to the contrary. If the Paypal/eBay accounts have been compromised, then you will loose, regardless of the method of sending.

If that's not a Paypal confirmed address, then I would think very carefully before sending.

Something looks off. He has no purchases in the last 6 months, you can't see the details on any of them, could have been $1 items, and he only ever left feedback for 1 out of the 7 sellers.

He's registered in America, so I assume that is where you're sending this item to?

Also, the company in question replied to an anonymous email and gave details on an employee? That is not right. There is no way a legitimate company would have replied to your email to confirm that they had or hadn't employed someone.

Personally, I'd refund the money and cancel the sale.

    Hey Jor el,

I called the company that came up in google for the said address and talked to them. It turns out there are a number of offices in the building. I typed in the office and address in google again that I was given and it came up with his name. He's a lawyer as it turns out. I think it looks ok actually. I got a response from him after he bought the item off me asking me about St. Patrick's Day so all in all seems ok... I'll register the item anyways just to be sure...

Do you still think I should refund?

    Thanks!

You are only supposed to send items to addresses that are on their paypal account not other addresses. If it gets lost in the post then you might not refunded but i think it might be just a matter of him adding hos work address to his paypal account

Send it by registered post for sure, that's the only way you will get paypal on your side should there be any problems. And only send it to the address that is on his paypal account
