no ps1 games over component.

    playing through a psn version of final fantasy 7 at the moment, no problems there, had to switch from hdmi to component for a while, this wouldnt boot anymore

    whats up with that? somthing drm? i just got a black screen till i went back to hdmi

    Turn off your PS3, with your component cable plugged in, turn on and hold the power button on the PS3 til you hear a second beep.

    PS1 games don't support component cables for video using the AV connector on PS3. The technology wasn't around when PS1 was on sale and it wasn't supported by the games either.

    HDMI, S-video or bundled AV cable are your options.

    Weird that it doesn't support it when HDMI is supporte that also wasn't around at the time.

    OP did you make sure your PS3 was working with the Component cables, as in youcould see the XMB media bar system when you turned on the console. You do know that you can't just change from HDMI to component while the console is on, it needs to be set up before hand.

    works no bother in 576p. not ideal tho, anyone know why 720 or 1080p are no go?
    havent tried 1080i but i cant imagine any difference
