Who are the 15 best players that you have witnessed in the flesh (or live on tv)? One for each position. My first international was 1982 as an eleven year old.

    15) Serge Blanco
    14) Jeff Wilson
    13) Brian O' Driscoll
    12) Tim Horan
    11) Campese
    10) Mark Ella
    9) Van Der Vesthuisen
    1) Os du Randt
    2) Keith Wood
    3) Peter Clohessy
    4) John Eales
    5) Victor Matfield
    6) Abelatif Benazzi
    7) Josh Kronfield
    8) Zinzan Brooke

Totally subjective based on when they were seen and the impact they had.

swap wilson for john kirwan then ella for andrew mehrtens and tendai "the beast" mtawarira for the claw (you said impact after all ;) )

great to see van der westhuisan being mentioned. perhaps overshadowed in his career by gregan, but a seriously talented player who wasnt afraid of the contact

I don't know if I can do the whole team but from my time living in NZ I would certainly say these are dead certs.

    15) Christian Cullen
    I was at this game - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiZrOMxJP9U
Watch the first try in particular.

The two Kiwi's were the best centre combo I have ever witnessed.
    13) Frank Bunce
    12) Walter Little

+1 on Joost van der Westhuizen. My all time favourite rugby player. Scored a load of tries too.

showing your age there chupacabra ;). I only ever seen grainy footage of Kyle myself. As for Edwards, the babas v nz in cardiff back in the 70s, rugbai gold or footage of old lions tours...not much else really.

I'm not entirely sure of who I've seen live, but considering I've only ever seen Leinster games it would mostly end up being an Irish team with Caucau...which would be awesome.

I've managed to only ever witness Leinster lose once, and that was against Wasps in Twickers.

TV wise it would be a whole different kettle of fish, and esentially the same as a "best 15 of the last 15 years".

    15) Jason Robinson
    14) Philippe Bernat-Salles
    13) Brian O' Driscoll
    12) Maa Nonu
    11) Denis Hickey
    10) Dan Carter
    9) Frédéric Michalak
    1) Os du Randt
    2) Keith Wood
    3) Martin Castrogiovanni
    4) Martin Johnson
    5) Victor Matfield
    6) Serge Betsen
    7) Richie McCaw
    8) Sergio Parisse

Playing a little fast and loose with players favored positions, but there it is. Not the strongest 15, but the 15 I'd most like to see play together.

    15) A Fit "Whizz" Cullen
    14) Howlett
    13) BOD
    12) Tim Horan
    11) Rupeni Caucaunibuca
    10) Carter
    9) JOOST Van Der Westhuizen

    1) Os Du Randt
    2) Wood, cos I can't think of someone who played like he did but could also throw a ball in.
    3) Hayman
    4)"Nobody"
    5) Martin Johnson
    6) Richard Hill
7)McCaw, Mainly cos a few highlights probably don't constitute "seeing" Micheal Jones
    8) Dallaglio but I'm not 100% sure.

I have drawn a bit of a blank on No. 8s. Maybe Dallaglio is it, but I have spent enough time on this now.
