as it says on the tin. i refuse to go to a jewellers as last time i went in for 1, (bear in mind it was liffey valley) i was told about 11 euro...... no way! its probably a standard battery, i had it in my hand when i went in. so needless to say the watch is still out of action!

any battery shops that arent jewellers?

You can get lithium batteries in Tesco. If that doesn't suit, try the place beside Dunnes Stores (Peter St Rear Entrance) in City Square. Usually costs me €7.

+1 I have used this place for watch and car key batteries on plenty of occasions , very reasonable price and usually an instant service

€2 at the till in EuroShop at Tesco Lisduggan for a blister of 20-something batteries different shapes and sizes. One should fit.

I know you don't want to go to a jeweler. However at the back door of city square there is a jewelery repair place.

Its ages since I was there for a battery, but I get my watch strap replaced now and then and they are quick and reasonable.

Just got a battery for my standard Seiko watch replaced. E-mailed FastFix.com (stephens green centre) and they quoted €12.95 for standard battery & €19.95 for a 5yr warranty battery. Did see batteries in a hardware shop on Mary street, but I don't have a tool to take the cover off the watch. Battery shop on Batchelors Walk (near O' Connell Bridge) quoted me €7.50-€9.50, but the specialist was away for a few days. Ended up getting it done at a booth in Moore street arcade (Beside Lidl). Down the escalator and first booth on left. Cost €10 for a 5yr warranty battery, nice guy called Singh. Good luck.
