A few questions for new MacBook Pro upgraders

I bought one of the previous 15in Unibody MacBook Pros about a year ago but returned it for several reasons.

I'm due an upgrade but don't want any surprises this time.

If any of you have upgraded and can answer any of my questions I'd really appreciate it.

    1. Are the edges as sharp as the previous models?

    2. Has anyone got the anti-glare 15in? Does it have the metal rim around the screen like the old 17in anti-glare or is it all glass? I can't find a picture anywhere.

    3. Is the hinge between the keyboard and screen any firmer?

    4. How are the speakers? I experienced a kind of buzz at certain frequencies from the right speaker on the previous model.

    Thanks for reading.

Mine should arrive tomorrow so I'll know for sure.

    But:
    1) They didn't change anything about the case afaik
    2) The anti-glare has a metal bezel
    3) I'll let you know
    4) I'd say that was just your model.

Can't wait for it to get here. Getting so frustrated with Windows, my PC has been acting up all day. F*ck windows, seriously.

    Cheers Elessar.

From what I've just read online it seems the sharp edges do indeed remain. That alone is pretty much a deal-breaker for me. I can't believe after a couple of updates they still haven't done anything about it.

Funny you should mention Windows. I'm actually considering going back to it! Between having no suitable MacBook upgrade options and Apple's increasingly authoritarian behaviour I may not have much choice! :)

Apple have always been authoritarian though. It's actually worked extremely well for them (and their users), but I suspect may come back to bite them one day if they aren't careful.

I have never found the sharp edges on my MBP a problem. Do you type with your wrists resting on the edge? Probably not a good idea, no matter how sharp they are.
