    Hi,

Im planning on travelling to South East Asia this summer. Probably visit Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. I was just wondering where the best place to go jungle trakking is? Would it be Chiang Mai or is there anywhere better? Im talking about proper Platoon style jungles. Somewhere that's preferably easyish to get to.

    Thanks

The places that most people do trekking in SE Asia are Chiang Mai in Thailand and Sa Pa in Vietnam. As to what place is better that really depends I had a great time trekking through the jungle up to the hill tribes in Chiang Mai and my group was really good which made the trip a lot better. Sa Pa is a beautiful place but might not be the jungle type experience you are looking for as its more hills/mountains and paddy fields.

Heya, well over the past 3 weeks Ive done the hill tribe trek in Chiang Mai and also trekked in the Cameron Highlands. The former was great and a cool experience but it wasnt much of a jungle to be honest, more like a really dense and dried up forest.......(although i think it will be greener during the rainy season)........it was still cool though, to sit by an open fire, drink funky spirits and watch local people perform traditional dances for us.
Now the Cameron Highlands trek in Malaysia was Fcking awesome! Jungle as you would imagine in your wildest dreams! Covered in mud, leaches etc............it was savage though!.........proper bear grills style trek
