Hi, I've been looking at cars for months now and I'm getting sick of it.
At the moment I've settled on the MK4 golf GT TDI.

I was just wondering what is a good price to pay for one? My budget is €4000.
Here is the specific car I am looking at - http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1244364

I was looking at a similar one in dark gray but alas, I found out it was a re-badged standard 90bhp version. (seller didn't say a word, I had a check done)

Any other suggestions for a car to buy? - links would be appreciated, value for money is important.

I've always wanted an alfa! - Very nice cars...

But the 156 is supposed to be a ball of ****e, If I could I'd get the 147 1.9jtd 140bhp with the facelift.

The 5 series is lovely, but tax would be a bitch, and with the 530d you barely get more than 30mpg. A lot of car for the money though!!

    I'd go for the Alfa.

This isn't too bad, Don't know how old you are might not suit...

I had the same opinion for ages as well, but what's the alternative? -The MK1 focus is cheaper yes, -but it is a tin can on wheels!

    Whats a GT TDI?

What is it lowered on? crap budget springs and standard shocks? cut springs? Decent matched springs and shocks? Coil overs?

Does he have the standard grille?

Does he still have the original wheels and will he keep does soft replica wheels ?

Crazy money for a 9 year old Golf.

I thought GT TDI's were 130 or 150bhp? The one you linked is only 110bhp.

No he knows what it is, he's pointing out that theres no such thing as a gt tdi, its just a badge that UK dealerships made up, the PD130 and 150's are Golf Highlines with GT badges.
