Anyone else thinking of getting this? I haven't got a new footie game since FIFA 09 so am strongly considering getting it.

There's even a scenario mode where you play out moments from past World Cups and qualifiers and guess what, one of them is to play as Ireland against France and try to equalise after Henry's handball , and there will be new ones added after the real World Cup

The demo is up now and found it much better than any other football demos I've ever played, so I'm cautiously optimistic about this one

I'd never consider buying a world cup game don't think it's worth it personnally. Played the demo of this seems different. First match I played was3-3 against my mate so you can knock in the goals not sure if I prefer it over FIFA 10 though

I didn't like the demo. I will stick to FIFA 10.

Loving the demo. Played about 20 games so far and it's definitely an improvement on 10. Players are more intelligent, AI is much improved and it's just a joy to play. One noticable thing is the way your striker moves in the box, espeically when you send crosses in. They create far more space than in 10. Heading is also better.

But yeah, hard to return to 10 after playing this.

Awful, awful gameplay and the camera angle is so messed up...You would swear it was made by a different company to be honest..

Dude you can change the camera angle in settings! Dynamic V.2 is the best. The gameplay is a big improvement over 10 you feel the acceleration of your players more they actually outrun people rather than tussle out on the wing. Heading is better so are crosses there are so many improvements, it's just better.

Downloaded the demo the other day and gotta say it looks pretty good. The graphics look amazing and commentery seems spot on. This is definately a game i'd consider getting as it looks to be an improvement on Fifa 10 (Fifa 10.5 possibly).

The scenario mode looks like it could be fun, especially when they upload new real life scenarios that happen during the actual World Cup itself.

One thing bugs me about the Demo - how do you know whicg teams are playable? I know Spain and Italy are as it's the one match i played. But It doesnt seem to say who is playable until you actually go to pick the team

Spain and Italy are the only teams you can play or play as in the demo, in the real game 199 of the 204 teams who played in qualifying will be in it.

Yeah thats pretty good. There's also like an Adidas XI and World XI teams as well.

Just thinkin about the Scenario mode thingy. I wonder if there'll be any mention of the Henry-Handball incident?

i guarantee there'll be not even suggestion of how that goal came about in the description. this is either virtual appeasement or fifa are just mocking us - either way they are belittling us..

sure enough i'll be attempting to 'put it straight' in the scenario  but if online in particular reveals disappointment again i'll be gutted - again. and fooled again; not played a footy game since the day i bought F10 on release day.. n thts a while w/o bread n butter

I doubt that FIFA have much say in game development to be fair, I'd say it was EA's idea because they knew a lot of people would want to get a measure of revenge

then i doubt that fifa gave EA license to purvey em as an organisation that failed to deal with a very significant piece of unfair play.

Really looking forward to this, I even have a FIFA world cup night arranged with a few mates coming over for beers on the 30th. Played the demo many times now and the subtle changes in gameplay really become more noticeable the more you play and add enough to make this a buy.

    Official magreview gave it a
    9
    BTW.

    pros:
    • improved graphics (player detail)
    • gameplay fixes (keeper doesn't come off line like in fifa 10, chips are harder, players dont get stuck in animations)
    • i think it plays and feels better

    cons:
    • paying the same as fifa 10 for less content

i am trying to avoid playin the demo in case i become hopelessly addicted the same 4min of challenging, but inhuman - AI. feels like it plays a dream with the subtle changes and glaring ones - if collisions n ping pong are sorted out online this time.. my life is over.
oh, but it has yet to begin! 2wks! .. see what i mean :o

Actually, I've read reviews and previews that have said that there is scenario specific commentary, so assumedly this means they'll mention it being disgraceful or whatnot.

someone i asked claimed theres commentary on the scenario "did Henry just handle that?" or something to that effect.. but the specific scenario descriptions, whether it features in em - it may say 'controversial' goal or somethin to that effect..

however - when i say guarantee, its never 100% so whats the point.
