Film Premieres

Has anyone every been to any film premieres and got autographs etc?

Ive always watched the tv programmes about the London film film premieres and seen all the crowds of people meeting all the celebs. Ive alwsya thought it looked soo much fun. Well about 3 years ago I moved to London and since then Ive managed to go to a few premieres.

what you dont see on tv, is the long hours of waiting at the barrier before the celebs arrive. For most of the premieres you have to get therere early in the morning, to make sure you get at the front of the barrier, so that you can get the celebs attention.

As well as all the genuine fans, there are also a group of people who are professional autograph dealers. Every wondered about all the autographs you see for sale on places like ebay?? Well this is how they get them. The dealers can be very aggressive and there is an ongoing riveraly between the genuine fans and the dealers. Many of the British celebs recognise the dealers and will refuse to sign autographs for them.

Premieres are also great places to get movie posters, as all the posters put on the barriers are just thown away after the premiere.

Never gotten autographs but have been to a few premieres, when I lived in Toronto, so generally they were the first Canadian screenings not the "first" screenings if you know what I mean.

Went to have a look at Harry Potter premiere, Rupert Grint was the only one of them there, loads of young girls waited hours but that was about it, I worked across the road from the theatre so just wandered over.

I went to the Sex and the City premiere, Kim Cattrall spoke at it, seemed lovely. There were lots of very dressed up wimmins and the after party was unreal, all the gift bags had beautiful jewellery in them and everything.

I went to a few when i lived in London but i would never ever ask a celeb for an autograph...i really cant see the point.

Kill Bill 2, Italian Job and Bad Boys II......The after show VIP parties are good fun.

They are worth it for the free booze and takling total bollocks to celebs after drinking way too much.

It's also funny to watch the Z list tarts throw themself at C list boy bands.....

And here's a little something you might not have known....After you see the celebs arriving on the red carpet they go in the front door and straight out the back door of the cinema. The A-Listers all head for a private dinner while the movie is on then just head straight for the VIP party afterwards. i guess they are sick of the movie by the time the premier comes around.
