Problem with locks on 00 Ford Focus

Hi all, my 00 Ford Focus has tempermental central locking and key locking.

The only way I can lock all the doors is by using the key in the passenger side door.

When I try to lock using the key fob, 99% of the time it sounds like it is trying to lock but then immediately unlocking - a "dunk-dunk" sort of sound. The other 1% of the time when using the key fob it locks all doors except the rear drivers side door, which will not even lock from the inside.

The key fob does work for unlocking the doors, except for the front passenger side one (when it has been locked using the key).

The boot is a bit iffy as well sometimes, but isn't a problem (yet).

    I'm baffled. Any ideas?

Press a courtesy switch 10 times in 6 seconds and the indicators will flash twice. The car locking system is now in test mode. Open one door at a time and you should get a chirp from the car. Also pressing a button on the keyfob will give a chirp to confirm the remotes transmitting ok. No chirp when opening a door or boot and thats where your fault lies.

Thanks for that, must give it a try later on. How do I take it back out of the test mode afterwards?

The passenger side door is now no longer opening or locking, stuck locked, which is kindof dangerous in case I have a tip, so I'm just gonna head to the garage with it altogether. Oddly enough, now that the passenger door is stuck locked, the rest of the doors work perfectly with the central locking! Damn car keeps on moving the goalposts....
