DTT signal affected by rain wind

I am using dtt from mullaghanish as analogue signal is poor. I have attic aerial and signal booster. Reception is unuseable in rain or high wind - picture freezes and jumps. Is there any way to fix this, normal signal strenth is about 60% with 100 for quality.

    Any help appreciated

Possibly move the aerial to a different part of the attic? Try to avoid nearby pipes, and it's better for the aerial to receive its signal through the gable wall ends rather than through the tiles. The tiles becoming wet from rain will significantly affect signal. Also, if the signal is travelling through a thick clump of trees near the house, moving the aerial within the attic might be enough to avoid the trees. Same principle applies as tiles, wet branches mess up signals a lot more than dry branches.

If moving it doesn't work, probably the most straightforward route is to move it outside. The significant boost in signal will probably let you affix the aerial at a lower and more accessible height while still managing 100% quality.

Thanks for that. Probably is trees but external aerial still won't avoid trees. Will the fact of just being external improve signal significantly anyway?

    Yes.

Are you certain that trees can't be avoided while the aerial is pointing to Mullaghanish?

Trees are higher than house and are probably reason analogue signal is so poor as houses within 100m have perfect analogue reception.

    Thanks for your input
