Does anyone know why 3 roundabouts,Athy Rd,Sleaty Rd and the one at the Talbot, are half dug up and levelled all on the same side (heading towards Dublin)?

Looks to me like some sort of asthetic upgrade. As far as I can see those roundabouts are used equally from all roads. It also looked like they were planting some shrubbery (Ni ! ) on the other side of the r/about.

wind turbines for killeshin from what I hear. they had to cut the roundabouts in half so the lorries can fit through. Thats what I hear, no idea if its true though

I thought it might be for an over size load alright
But if its for Killeshin, why didnt they level the other side of the roundabout, going in that direction?

i would assume it would be dependent on the load and just what route they can take. Same time, I heard that from a woman who works in a hairdressers so Im not too certain if that is actually the case ....

They just might be allowed to drive on the other side of the road at the roundabout with supervision - saves cutting the whole roundabout up.:D

yea i was up next to them before and they are massive, do the bring them on one load or are they in pieces? they will look brilliant up on killeshin, some people hate them but i think they look good, better than a peat burning power station

Any idea how many are going up there? There's the bones of one up there now, everything bar the blades of the windmill is up.

I thought that at first too but if you look at them it would be the straighest route through the roundabouts by taking them on the wrong side, all over sized loads like that will be escorted and the gardaí will be there i'd imagine to stop traffic and get them through as quick as possible. It will be interesting to see them up and running :)
