Man utd to win premier league 9/1

They are around 9/1 on betfair now

Just looking at the remaining fixtures:
    Man City vs Man Utd
    Man Utd vs Tottenham
    Sunderland vs Man Utd
    Man Utd vs Stoke

Man City home record - won 11, drew 4, lost 1
Sunderland home record - won 8, drew 7, lost 2
Tottenham away record - won 6, drew 5, lost 5
Stoke away record - won 3, drew 8, lost 5

    And then Chelseas:
    Tottenham vs Chelsea
    Chelsea vs Stoke
    Liverpool vs Chelsea
    Chelsea vs Wigan

The 2 away games, liverpool and tottenham , looking at those teams home form:
    Liverpool - won 12, drew 3, lost 2
    Tottenham - won 11, drew 2, lost 3

Now a lot of people are writing Man Utd off already because of the 0-0 against blackburn, but if you saw that match it was just bad luck on the day they didn't win the game. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with their form at the moment.

Basically I think the away games to Liverpool/Spurs might cause an upset for Chelsea, although Man City's home record is amazing if Utd can win that match it changes everything. Anyway the point I'm making is although Chelsea more than likely have it , I think 9/1 is great value for Man U.

Considering the way Chelsea scraped through tonight, it might be worth a punt at 9/1. If Utd. win at City at the weekend those odds will be slashed. Without Rooney though I wouldnt be betting on it.

    No Rooney no win, Simple.

    Rooney's back on sat

Price also reflects the fact that they have to beat Arsenal too.

    Looks about right to me.

Are United not about 13/8 to beat Man City this weekend?

City have a serious chance of beating United let alone drawing with them. United have a tiny tiny chance of winning the league. They should be alot higher than 9/1 before i'd consider backing them.

Also loving the way the OP is avoiding Arsenal altogether even though they're currently more likely to be the ones challenging Chelsea especially if they win tomorrow, although i think Chelsea have it as good as won.

Utd won't win the League and there's a good chance they won't finish 2nd either if Arsenal get a result tomorrow night.
Chelsea are just too far ahead to be caught, even if they drop points against Spurs.
    Don't waste your money.

Chelsea have it won like I predicted last season.....

just wish I put my granny on it...so they say

They did their utmost to throw it away though. And Still think they'll drop points...they can afford to though...man utd have been awful and would not have been worthy winners...although none of the top three have impressed enough this season to be called worthy winners. Worst season for a very long time.

I did see the match and didn't think it was anything to do with bad luck, simple really, without rooney man utd struggle to score.
Worst season for a very long time.

Best season for very long time for neutrals, 3 teams in with a shout with 4/5 games to go.....EXCELLANT! Usually only excitment around this time of the season comes from the relegation battle

All 3 teams will probably drop more points. Chelsea at the Pool, Utd at City and Arsenal at Blackburn all look like slip-ups so the title will head to Chelsea.

Not true, they've won more games without Rooney than with him this season I heard. That said, can't see them getting trois points against City!

Well, won a higher percentage of the games without Rooney. And, they've a higher win percentage with Berbatov playing than with Rooney. :pac:

That's poor value tbh, should be at least 3 points more than that.

If utd beat city tomorrow I'm probably gonna lay this off and lock in some profit. I still think 10.00 (9/1) was good value at the time, they are gone down to 8.00 (7/1) now. I believe the 9/1 was market over-reaction from chelsea beating bolton on tuesday.

I don't think they'll beat City to be honest.

Not sure, they are slight favourites to win the match anyway. Dunno why people think city are so much more likely to win, it's not in man utd's nature to slow down or give up in this position. I don't even think they are on a bad run at the moment, last 2 matches they beat bayern and drew to blackburn. Their last 11 matches in all competitions has been WWWWWWWLLWD, and that last draw to blackburn definitely should have been a win for utd when you compare the chances for goals they had against blackburn + the fact Rooney might be starting against city. I dunno we'll wait and see I suppose.

man united aren't great away from home and neither is rooney.

I think Spurs will push Chelsea 2moro evening, draw or a defeat for Chelsea, and all dependant (Rooney starting) on Utd result, you will get a nice lay on this bet by 8 o clock 2moro night.

Then its down to the Pool who will go out of their way to do Utd no favours, Torres rested for the WC "under doctors orders" by then lol

Not if they're fighting for a Europa League spot.

thats because they throw Berb on when they are goals up (winning) and rooney is kept on the pitch when loosing in hope he'll grab a goal.

Why didn't you just back them to beat City if you were gonna lay the bet off anyway?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 50 ✭✭Opium led greed

What do you mean? I made that bet because it appeared to represent good value at the time. I could have layed it off even before todays match to lock in profit. If utd had drew/lost today I still would have kept the bet to see what happens after the next 2 utd games/3 chelsea games.

Backed Chelsea at 1.49 now on betfair, after spurs scored the peno. Good value considering they were 1.19 this morning and there's still 70 mins of the game to play + even if they lose the game they are still a point ahead of utd with only 3 games left

City were terrible beyond belief! Fair play to United though.

OP - fantastic shout about the 9/1. The way the season is going you could have nailed a winner. Laying off is all about timing and sometimes you can get it bang on and others not, but you have the profit so nice one.

@coughlan08 You may love Scholes but you'll have to fight off Gary Neville first !
