i have a Toshiba Satellite pro A210 and it gets really hot and shuts down . i posted a few months ago and came to the conclusion that the heatsink needs to be cleaned along with the fans. now i have trawled through the internet to find a disassembly guide for the exact same laptop but cant find any guide. i dont wanna mess it up if i give it a go . i got a couple of prices and they were between €70-€130 which is a bit steep for my liking .

anyone know of any guides that would be suitable for me. or any companys that would do this for less than the prices i got quoted?

I haven't looked for any guides, but i presume you've already googled it yourself;). Get the screwdriver out and start taking it apart? That's what i would do! Just take your time with it, and if you're unsure then you can just stop. Don't hold me accountable if it doesn't go to plan!

I've done this many times. but recently found a quick way to do it with some laptops. toshibsa have a fan that looks like this.

if you can see the fan blades from the bottom of the laptop through the vents, then you can suck the dust out that way with a powerful vancuum cleaner. dont try to suck it from the sides as it wont make it thru.

if you are going down the route of taking it apart, use a clean, well lighted area. use an a4 sheet of paper to place the screws on, placeing them in location that represents where you took them out of the laptop.

Had another Toshiba sattelite laptop and it too got absolutely roastin' on my lap to the point where it was so hot I'd have to put it on a cold glass table to cool it...

Glad I moved that thing on.
