Just wondering what age do you have to be to manage an underage gaelic team and how do you get into it?

No age restrictions afaik, but I'd imagine you'll need to be able to drive and have your own car. Contact whoever looks after the youth section of your local GAA team.

At least 3 years older thean the kids you will be looking after.

being a mentor is an important role in any club and a role that is not suitable for everyone. Have you helped out with a team before? First thing you should get is Garda Clearance, then a coaching course and if you can a first aid course.

How old are you and what age would you like to manage?

Not necessarily, I was over our minor team when I was 19. no age restrictions if you are passionate and have the respect of the players.

So was I. But in general its better to have a gap of a few years especially as the op is 15yrs old, I think.

I would suggest U/10 - U/12. Plan your session from start to finish and stick to it. Make notes and see how you can improve each session, there is always room to improve drills. Speak clearly and keep it simple for a few weeks then you can develop your sessions.

    Best of luck

Go to your local club and tell them you want to do some coaching with a juvenile team. If you can do the foundation level course it will get you started.

Have a little plan in your head and on paper so you can say "I feel I can give our U/10s or U/12s a good boost"

If your 15 why do you want to be coaching? Why don't you want to play yourself? And if you are playing then would you not have enough on your plate with 2 or 3 training sessions and a game every week?

Coaching kids of that age would be an absolute pain I'd say. When you're 40 and too old to play then that's the time to get into coaching but not now when you're young enough to be playing.
