At fifteen if you need motivation you also need a kick in the ass. Maybe taking your other thread into consideration you are not cut out to be a player at the highest level, inter county, but You could be a good club player.

How often do you train? Do you watch your diet? Do you or can you stick to a training plan? Looking back at my own playing career the big regret I have is not training properly, I trained hard but I drank like a fish it was not until I was 26 and dry that I was really fit for the first time so I would say prepare properly for your training and then train properly. You will find, well I did as I got more fit I was able to do things better and made less mistakes, your brain thinks quicker. It takes time. It took me 6 or 7 months and many a night I doubted myself.

I really admire the lads who play now, they are so committed and fit and prepare so well.

Set yourself a few achievable targets for running laps or on the beach or road, allow some time for extra ball work, when you go for a run bring a ball, go the pitch with a friend and practise your kicking and catching. It will take time but if you want to improve you must put in the work.

You may feel like not bothering but when that july evening comes when your in the final, youll wonder how you doubted yourself

    Dedication is the key...

Who do you play for,who are the great players in your club?

County under age footballer and despised it, used to be dragged out by my brother to club trainings even though I was captain. Now I'm barely making the B team but I'm putting in some serious effort... Life's a witch
