am from non eu doing my second degree here. am in second year and one more year to go.

went for an interview today (for summer job). and the employer is also looking for someone who speaks my langauge after summer. the employer is willing to apply working permit for that person too.

i have heard that unless you finish ur degree, u can't apply for the work permit. is it true? even u have finish ur degree here, u first have to apply for the graduate scheme, then the work permit. can i jump the steps if i have someone sponsor me and can proof they can't find local irish / eu people to do that?

anyone here knows or have been similiar situation?

Unlikely. If qualified people out there are willing to work for free then I can't see how their would be any jobs left for non-Eu nationals.

it's a job of the language.

and people who speak the language would usually be non eu. so, no local people can do it.

i hv got a british passport btw, but not a full one, so still need the gnib that kind of thing. funny.

and i dont think there are people out there like to take it up as volunteer work without pay.??!?!

    really no hope?

Hi, you cannot go from a student Visa to a work permit. You need to apply for the graduate scheme(after your course is over) and then apply for a work permit.

Although you mentioned you have a British Passport but still need a GNIB card; your case might be different.

how come you have a uk passport and still need a gnib card?

yes, this is the funny annoying thing of the UK passports!

UK has got six different passports (maybe less now). I am from a previous UK colony. The passport is called BN(O), British National Overseas. So I have got a UK passport, I can vote in UK, but I am not a British or EU citizen.
