    Well do you?

If so what are the benefits and if not the same?

I was having a natter with two friends earlier who both buy it.

They say it's great, updates available, support etc.

I am not so sure, I've never bought software in my life. Well x games for my phone :)

Is it worth it or are the old internet sharing methods still the best?

Buy your software for god sake!

If these people don't make money, the won't be able to afford to make updates/new versions...other programs!

It's relatively small money considering the use you get out of the software!

I wouldn't remotely consider using a torrent or whatever do download Traktor and then going into a club with it. I'd always be worried about it crashing, or going in which a outdated version. Updates come out every few months, and they fix pretty big problems and add major things to the software. 100% buy it.

If I wanted to try something out before buying it I might torrent it if there wasn't a decent demo available, but that's about it.

The odd track is one thing, but €200 software is another.

i have nothing personally against people downloading torrents and "trying" software thats cracked in order to evaluate it fully with out demo restriction. as i believe that's the purpose of a lot of these releases,it says so in the nfo files. or coarse there will be a majority who wont read that or take part in it.

but people who think its cools to use cracks and make music without paying for their tools really need to wise up!

yes as above, you should support developers for if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have such great plugs, but one should also learn about morals.
just because your not making money with music doesn't mean its ok not to pay for it, you should pay for it if you use it,no matter what!

would you walk into your local hardware shop and steel some power tools to do some work around the house and justify it by saying its ok to do so because that company makes plenty of money anyway ?

    i wouldn't think so somehow.

those of you who download cracks probably have more software than you know what to do with it. therefore all your doing all day is running keygens and installers and only half trying things because your too busy going back to the net for the ""latest"" one.

real producers know their soft, use their soft and pay for their soft.
its a fact that you actually feel better as a person and a producer when you pay for you soft. for those of you who don't, why dont you try paying for it just once ? is money that tight ? ever get money for your birthday ? Christmas ? there's no excuse really.....

if some lad makes tracks on cracked software and then those tracks get released on a label and he finds out loads of people are illegally downloading his tracks then he has absolutely no right to complain or give out.

i dont really care if some one used cracked software, ive alway bought software myself, i bought ableton and reason and never use them really, but im fairly loaded so really don't see it as a waste of money.

    Jesus Christ!

Some of yous need to chill the hell out, seriously, calm down.

Your just gonna have to accept that some people don't give a fcuk about the people making these products. They have the outlook (me included) of why pay for it if you don't have to, especially 100 or 200 quid. Someone said that DLing the odd track is ok. But do you not think that artist needs/deserves that money just as much as the people making the software? What about films, TV shows, albums... whatever else, would you download those?

I think aswell its wrong for the people who pay for all they're software they use to think they're some how better than the people downloading it. You shouldn't be worrying about the morals of other people, if your happy downloading it or paying for it thats all that should matter.

If you are an actual working DJ/Producer making money out of the industry you should buy your software and your music.

I purchased licenses for Traktor and Ableton, haven't used them in a year or so, busy back in college.

It's licences which you are buying, not the software, thats owned buy the developer.

And I agree as a previous poster mentioned, when you are playing live, you do want that reassurance of reliability and for the support in the development of the product and the technology itself.

If you are making money from using cracked software, it really is unethical.
