    Hi all,

First time post for me so any help greatly appreciated.

Currently Building a 2,400 sq. ft 2 storey house ready for first fix plumbing. Lost my job and im trying to finish this house on a ridiculous tight budget. I want to get the plumbing and heating right.

Ive got underfloor on the ground floor and rads upstairs. House has mains supply water. 4 bedrooms all with en-suite.

I don't have the budget to go with geo or solar or anything fancy. Any suggestions on the best system I should go for ? ? ?

    Thanks

Are you going to try and set up the underfloor heating yourself?
Dont mean to sound harsh but unless you have experience a combined underfloor/ rads system is not for someone without experience.

Or do you simply want a reccomendation of oil or gas?

No no. I must have worded this wrong. Its mains gas supply. Im just looking to get some knowledge myself before I get a plumber involved. I can't get my head around what system to use.

Combi boiler or standard high efficient boiler?

    Large storage cylinder?

    Tanks in the attic?

    etc. etc.

    Thanks for the reply.

I wouldnt reccomend a combi boiler for a big house , they are better suited to smaller places.
Best to go with the High efficency boiler and the Storage cylinder to go with it , with 3 ensuites you would want a decent sized cylinder depending on what showers your putting in ?
What showers do you plan on putting in ?, if money is so tight then personally i would go with a mira or triton showers the mira sport if the mains pressure is very good in your area or the mira elite 2 if they will be connected to attic tank.
Yes you want tanks in the attic the plumber should be able to size them when all requirements are known, tanks in the attic are essential as they provide you with a store of water if the mains is off for a period, which means you can still flush toilets etc.
In a house usually only the Kitchen sink , washing machine, dishwasher and supply to attic tanks are mains water, then the bathrooms hot and cold supplies are from the stored water in the tank in attic.
