    Seminar 1 - Channels Explained - 11:00 - 11:45
Join Guy for this all new seminar as he outlines multiple examples of how to manipulate images without a total dependency on the menu options within Photoshop. Learn how to build an Alpha Channel and Layer combination to achieve the effect you want to create. Go beyond Photoshop and think differently - Guy shows you how to understand the difference between selections and Alpha channels. See how Guy uses Channels to add depth of field to a cut-out, how to use channels for your processing of images - contrast, sharpening etc. Guy will demonstrate how channels can achieve graphic design techniques such as warping images and creating very natural distortion effect. Guy will also detail how he uses channels to colour correct an image bypassing PS without any compression or degradation of image quality.

    Seminar 2 - Process Workflow - 12:15 – 13:00
Creating a distinction between Processing and Retouching, Guy explains processing - how to take the basic data from the camera and enhance it in much the same way as a Lab would in the past- simple balancing, assessment of an image, meaningful RAW conversion creating a pleasing acceptable print. Guy demonstrates his process workflow teaching you how to work smarter by reducing the variables in your image processing, create a processing action and let your computer do the work for you. Improve the quality of your work, understand the equipment you are working with, create Guy’s process workflow and free yourself from mindless repetition by creating a simple workflow which enables you to work smarter saving you time and money.

    Seminar 3 - Retouching Techniques - 14:00 – 14:45
Guy takes you through the Retouching Techniques you’d want to apply after the Processing Workflow - any effect you’d want to apply in a localised area or in isolation in your image. Break the dependency on Photoshop by learning to create your own tools which allow to you pick out an element of a picture and enhance it. Examples include performing a cut out, teeth whitening, changing colour of garments, skin balancing, skin smoothing, dodge and burn, changing hair colour, eye brightening. Guy will also demonstrate his new post production digital reflector technique in this seminar.

    Seminar 4 - HDR -High Dynamic Range Imaging - 15:15 – 16:00
Guy debunks the industry myth that you have to have to take multiple images using complex software, hardware and shooting processes to create convincing HDR images. Guy blows this hype out of the water by showing you how you can use your existing kit to create amazing High Dynamic Range Imaging in just one shot! Using Guy’s HDR technique in combination with his Process Workflow and thinking differently when you shoot Guy will show you how to create images you never thought possible. This seminar is a must see and is guaranteed to open your eyes to a whole new world of possibilities.

    Seminar 5 - Mono Conversion - 16:30 – 17:15
Intuitive Colour to Mono Conversion has been a challenge since the beginning of the Digital Photography. Converting to Black and White is a subjective black art with more conversion methods that you can shake a really big stick at. Yet, it has never needed to be this way... In this session Guy shows you how to put some science behind your creativity. Learn how to convert and then manipulate your mono conversions with accuracy and ease while achieving results you never thought possible! Guy will also show you how to apply the most natural colour toning and grain effects to create a truly organic feel to the final image.

    Anyone can attend.

Stalls, demos, presentations, special offers, a few freebies... available to anyone and everyone.

It's OK if you're into this sorta thing... I went last year and wanted out after about 45 mins... couple of friends spent the entire day there.

It helps if you've a fistful of dollars with you.

no .... open to photo enthusiasts amateur and professionals.

EDIT: Beaten to it ...... darn

I was at this a few times over the years, some of the seminars are a bit iffy... but the stalls allow you to chat a little with people in photography supplies and similar businesses - great for anyone wanting to bulk buy stuff...or a group of people get together to bulk buy.

Ps. Visit Barker's Photographic - got a great deal on Photoshop and other things from them when I bought it a few years ago :) ... they usually have some really good deals on for the show only.

I am still here. Got a Sensor Scope from DML for €70. They were a lot more than that last time I priced them.

About to go and hear about Cool D3S's ..... Adventures in the Arctic.

Quite a few people are not here because of the lack of flights. Guy Gowan is stuck in Amsterdam but is streaming his workshops in online. Have not been to one as they are always full but it seems to work OK but with a few seconds delay.

I enjoyed Photo Fest yesterday. The Canon seminars were very good - especially those on DPP and the video capabilities of the 5D2 et al. Good crowd there too. Looking forward to next year.
