    Sort off.

It was doing poor figures so I assume SyFy don't want any more series after this one. It's a shame because I like the format of the show.

    WWE NXT CANCELED
    By Mike Johnson
The word making the rounds in Stamford, CT this morning is that when WWE moves Smackdown to SyFy in October, NXT will finish its run.

well id guess we are going to see a lot more Ortunga style introductions to the big brands for the NXT rookies as they will be the only class to graduate from that show and it is getting the type of ratings which lead to the axe so its stars wont exactley get the best promotion there.

Danielson vs The Miz should be a bit sooner than we might have expected.

Pity as i liked the NXT concept as WWE's third show.

Shame. The show had teething problems but there was something there. Hopefully they'll continue to do something similar to debut guys but just on Raw or Smackdown.

I think NXT is brilliant best WWE product at the moment maybe they just need to move from Sci Fi

It was a good idea but they threw it out on television without thinking it through more thoroughly.

Must say, I am left completely underwhelmed by NXT. Has done nada for me. So am not surprised there is talk of it being canned already.

it could have benefited from more of the top wwe guys coming on for matches

    its a shame though

how long is left of the current show?

Its a shame, but some of those guys were waaay too green to put on TV. If the rookies can't put on half decent matches, why would anyone ever tune in?

Erm, PW Insider may have jumped the gun a little...:o

Regarding the NXT show currently airing on Syfy, WWE said NXT "will leave Syfy in October as Friday Night SmackDown joins the schedule." The show is not being canceled, though. WWE will announce at a later time where they are moving NXT. Stay tuned.

It never done a 0.3, the ratings started strong with a 1.3 or 1.4, then it slipped, but its never dipped under a 1.0.

Would love to see them do another Tough Enough style show, especially with the success of the Ultimate Fighter.

It has consistently had better ratings than TNA for the past few weeks and is roughly the same rating as ECW before it.

It has actually, the March 16th,23rd and the April 9th shows did a 0.9.

SyFy, imo, really isn't the best network to put wrestling on. ECW flopped on it, NXT isn't really doing much better (level to worse on the ratings front) and I wonder when SD becomes part of the SyFy programming, will it's ratings suffer as well??

It's no small wonder that SD! gets poor ratings as they've been changing channels a lot recently:( maybe 85% of the fans make the jump.

    1999-2006 : UPN
    2006-2008 : The CW
    Oct '08 - Sept '10 : MyNetwork TV
    Sept '10 : SyFy

I suppose it's best to put wrestling on channels with other shows that wrestling fans would watch; (obviously the best idea is to have it on the biggest free network tv station) maybe there's a couple of programs on SyFy that wrestling fans would watch.

Why did SD move from the CW to MyNet??

The MyNetwork move was a failure from the start, imo. MyNet isn't available in some parts of the States (which affects ratings) and recently, MyNetwork dropped all it's own produced programming except SD.

    From PWInsider:
While the WWE NXT series is being canceled off SyFy, WWE is seeking other options to continue the series. I was told by one source today there have been at least preliminary discussions with Bravo.

It really wasn’t Vince’s choice. The CW Network wanted rid because they wanted to make the network more female orientated or something.

They should just stick with the old fashioned way of introducing new talents. Put them on your main shows and build them from there. Maybe they could try only introduce new talent on Smackdown and have it as the up and coming show with new and not so new talent on it while the more experienced go to Raw. You could have your new wrestlers along with the likes of Ziggler, Swagger and what not. Maybe combine your two heavyweight belts and have the Intercontinental or US title as the main one on Smackdown. At the moment they are struggling to create new stars so something's got to give.
