Solar Panels not heating the water

Hi. I purchased my solar panels from a company near Conna, Co.Cork.
I would advise anyone dealing with this company to be aware that they are useless. I also purchased my geothermal until from the same company and the service and help after purchasing has been terrible.

Advice to anyone intending to fit a Geo Thermal unit or Solar panels to your house is to go to a company that supply and fit.

I had my solar panels fitted by a plumber but the temperture I am getting from them is 28 degrees in the tank. I need to put on the immersion each evening to heat the water.

I am wondering if anyone out there had a similar problem and how they sorted it. My tanks are a good distance away from the solar panels yet I have insulated piping coming from the solar panels to the tank.

How many panels did you install?

our one are generating about 45 degrees in this weather and i taught that might be poor, but yours sound worse

    Hi,
    I purchased 4 x 1.898 M2 but the plumber said I only needed 3 panels x 1.898 M2.

    I have a 300 ltr tank

Really silly question but are you sure the water is circulating properly in the system, no air locks and the pump is set at an adequete speed?

The pump not circulating is probably the issue. Mine is doing the same thing. flow meter shows there's next to nothing circulating, so I'm trying to locate a solar plumber to give it all a service for me now.

Just for reference I am getting between 70 and 95 celcius at the top of my 300 litre tank over the last few days, thats with 2 x 2.5m flat panels facing south on a 40 degree pitch. So you deffo have something wrong in the system.

Hi Conor....I install these systems..whats the pressure gauge reading in when the system isn't running. Also, if your familiar with the system is the flow regulator open sufficiently? It may also be the case that air needs to be vented from the circulation pump and air vent on flow side. Rgds John
