Bank delayed in doing a L/C cost me money

"banks" where will I start? I asked my Bank 2 weeks ago to do a Letter of Credit for a supplier, the balance in my account was 4 times the amount of the L/C, "no problem" they said, when I returned from holidays I had an e mail from the supplier cancelling the order as the Bank took 2 weeks to do the L/C. The costs of the goods now have increased and I had to pay the supplier up front for them. The Bank dont want to know and blame it on people (In the Bank) being on holidays etc and have said they will not refund me the extra money it cost me to purchase the good.

    any ideas guys????

Don't think you have any comeback on anyone here I'm afraid.
Unless you specifically told the bank that it had to be done in a specific timeframe and they didn't do it.
On top of that you didn't chase them for the two weeks.
and on top of that you asked them, left on holidays and came back to the suppliers email stating he was cancelling the order.
Were the bank to also send the letter to the supplier on your behalf?, because otherwise if they sent it to you within the two weeks of your holidays then the supplier would still be waiting for it because you were on holidays.
